Cubert 5 - windy and fast
The flattest 5 mile race in Cornwall and perfect for a PB, the Cubert 5 miler returned last night in Round 7 of the Cornish Grand Prix Series. Bright sunshine but a cold and very gusty wind blew runners off the start line and away out of the village of Cubert on a fast flat or gently downhill section of road into the countryside. The race essentially consists of two loops on country lanes, with a couple of small undulations and a gentle incline at the halfway point, but most of the race is very very fast, before finishing gently uphill into a grassy field. The cool temperatures made for comfortable running conditions, although the gusty headwind on the return leg of the loop was a little tricky. I was really pleased with my time, a PB on this course and over this distance!
