Storm Force 10...kicking off the Cornish GP season!
The 2017 Cornish Grand Prix series returned with Storm Force 10 at Camborne. Crisp and chilly weather on the start line with a very gentle breeze signalled that this was going to be the perfect day for a PB. Straight into it from the start line into a fast downhill section, as the course heads out into the wintry countryside to the south-west of Camborne. A brief shower 15-20 minutes into the race cooled things down nicely, as we followed the undulating road out towards Leedstown and Praze-an-Beeble, with some slippery wet mud dragged onto the roads by farm vehicles from the surrounding fields. Everyone was digging deep from 8.5-9.5 miles up the final long hill, which seemed to drag on forever, before flying for the last half a mile on the downhill section into Camborne. Enjoyed some nice battles with Steve Strachan early on, then Kieran Murrant around the 7 mile mark, which really helped to improve the pace.
